The CTD Group, including Canadian Tool & Die, Integra Castings, BMW MachineWorks, and Power Pin, is a diversified global supplier operating in six business segments: Ductile & Grey Iron Castings, Hydraulic Cylinders, Hubs and Spindles, Wheels, Hitches, and Custom Machining. CTD Group’s broad product range is used in various industries, including the agricultural, mining, machine tool, medical devices, oil and gas, industrial, utility, and infrastructure industries.
Our custom processes include:
- Skiving & Roller Burnishing
- Precision Machining
- Metal Forming & Stamping
- Product Engineering
Skiving
& Roller Burnishing
- Skiving provides a better finish
at a lower cost with a faster turnaround time.
- Skiving allows for heavier
stock removal than honing.
- Burnishing enhances the wear
resistance of the cylinder wall.
- Tubes are finished with no
flaking or laminations
- Weld on items such as trunions,
manifolds and port connections, create no problem when skiving.
(We do all welding prior to skiving & burnishing, which
eliminates the need for honing twice and cleans up any distortions
due to the welding, assuring true ID. Finish can be varied to
suit customer's specifications.
- Snap ring grooves may be finished
prior to skiving.
- Skiving is more economical
than honing.
